08.18.22 - Greene Principal's Community Update

Dear Greene Families,

I hope this message finds you well.  I would like to tell you what a joy it has been to work with our students. They are amazing young people who I truly enjoy speaking with and getting to know. I love seeing all of the smiles as I walk around campus.  As I observe the various groups of friends sitting together at lunch or visiting in the halls, I can see the wonderful connection they have with one another.  

In an effort to build on this successful start, I would ask parents to reinforce three ideas with our students:

1. Please please please always bring your ID to school. Student IDs are essential to everything we do on campus. Students need their ID to:

   Get FREE brunch and lunch provided by PAUSD

   1. Students who do not have their ID are asked to go to the office to get a temporary copy. 

   2. Students with IDs help expedite brunch and lunch service. 

   3. Check out books from the library

   4. Participate and attend school-sponsored activities. 

 

1. Continue to keep Greene green: pick up your trash after brunch and lunch

2. Be safe getting to school.

   1. Walk safely: 

      1. It's always best to walk on sidewalks or paths and cross at street corners, using traffic signals and crosswalks.

   2. Bike Safely:

      1. PLEASE, ALWAYS WEAR YOUR HELMET

      2. Go With the Traffic Flow

      3. Obey All Traffic Laws

      4. Yield to Traffic When Appropriate

      5. Be Predictable

      6. Stay Alert at All Times

      7. Look Before Turning

I want to thank you for supporting our efforts by continuing to reinforce these 3 ideas with our students.

Back to School Night

BTSN is scheduled for Wednesday, August 24th from 5:45 pm to 7:40 pm.  BTSN is an opportunity to welcome families to our school community, for teachers to provide school/course information, as well as allow parents to connect with the teachers and other PAUSD families. The parent and teacher partnership is essential and directly correlates with student success. All Greene families are encouraged to attend.
