Hello, Greene Parents!

This year, the optional AMC 8 competition will be held in the MPR on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, beginning at 1:45 pm. All current Greene students are welcome to participate. They should be done testing no later than 4pm. Students are asked to please bring a fully charged laptop to the test administration. Pencils and paper will be provided. No cell phones nor smart watches are allowed.

As stated on the website, ”The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute competition designed for students in grade 8 and below. The competition focuses on middle school mathematics topics, including counting and probability, estimation, proportional reasoning, elementary geometry (including the Pythagorean Theorem), spatial visualization, and interpreting graphs and tables. Some of the later questions may touch on beginning algebra topics, such as linear or quadratic functions and coordinate geometry.”

If your child would like to participate in the AMC 8, please register using this link. It is very important that students know their login information.
