September Community Newsletter 2025

Please see the original post on parentsquare or the September Newsletter PDF

Dear Greene Families,

It's hard to believe we're already six weeks into the school year! We've loved getting to know your students and are so impressed with how they've adjusted to the routines and demands of their classes.

Now that we're in the full swing of things, it's a great time to check in with your student and see how they're managing their workload. The demands of school can increase as the year progresses, and a little extra support at home can make a big difference. Remember, we have Homework Habitat available on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays after school. We also encourage you to remind your child to use all the other resources available to them at school, including their teachers

Our school counselors and wellness team are also here to support your child with any academic or personal challenges they may face. Please don't hesitate to reach out to them if you have any concerns.

Thank you, Greene Admin

Progress Report #1 - Available for view on Infinite Campus on September 19

Progress reports will be available on Infinite Campus on September 19th. These reports provide a snapshot of your student's academic standing, indicating whether they are on track to succeed or may need additional support.

For students who have a D, F, or NM ("No Mark") in any course, our team of counselors and Student and Family Engagement (SaFE) staff will be conducting check-ins. A "No Mark" typically means a student is not currently passing a class, often due to missing a major assignment, test, or project. These check-ins are designed to help identify the root causes and connect students with the resources they need to get back on track.

Update from Palo Alto Police Department: Juvenile Traffic Diversion Program - Citations coming soon!
The Palo Alto Police Department in cooperation with Stanford Health are restarting the Juvenile Traffic Diversion Program. If you are issued a citation for a non-vehicle related violation such as not wearing a helmet or not stopping at a stop sign while riding a bicycle and you are under the age of 18, you will have the opportunity to attend a bicycle law education class with your parents/ student taught by the police department. If you successfully complete the 1 and 1⁄2 hour class, the ticket will be thrown away. If not, the ticket goes to court for prosecution.

The Palo Alto Police Department wants to remind all of you that when riding a bicycle, you must follow the rules of the road. That includes, but is not limited to, wearing a helmet if under the age of 18, stopping at stop signs, only one ear bud or ear covered, and riding on the right side of the road. The police department will begin issuing citations in the coming weeks. If you have any questions, you can call Sergeant Ken Kratt at 650-329-2683.
