Welcome letter & Back-to-School Packet

Dear Greene Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to the 2020-21 School Year! We look forward to students "Showing Up Strong"! Students are invited to campus to kick off our school year with a materials pick up. Due to our unusual opening with distance learning, students will come to campus to take their photo and pick up the necessary materials for online learning. We anticipate it to take about 30-40 minutes. Please make sure your child arrives within the first 15 minutes of their assigned time. (See chart below.) If you are unable to come to campus during your assigned time, please contact our data secretary, Ms. Ruth Jang, at rjang@pausd.org to arrange for an alternate time to pick up class materials.

Please note:

  • Everyone will need to adhere to physical distancing guidelines - staying 6 feet apart from other individuals while on campus. We will have tape and cones set up to aid with this.
  • Students should arrive wearing masks and gloves.
  • Bags will be provided for students to collect their items.
  • Only students will be permitted on campus. If students are dropped off, parents must remain in their vehicle at all times. Students may ride their bikes- Bike Cage #2 (on N. California Ave) will be open and monitored for social distancing guidelines.
  • If your child checked out a Chromebook and charger, iPad and charging cord, or other device last spring, students need to bring the device, charger, and any accessories to switch for a current Greene device.
  • While on campus, students will:
    • Check in at the check in table located in front of the main office
      • Receive class schedule, map, binder reminder, bag for item pick up, and a zoom link/session ID for their first class on Monday (8/17) morning
    • Take school photo
    • Pick Up a current Greene Chromebook
      • Each currently enrolled Greene student will be issued a current Greene Chromebook and charger for distance learning. If you do NOT wish to pick up a current Greene Chromebook, please complete this acknowledgement form by Aug 12. Link: Chromebook Acknowledgement Form - OPT OUT.
      • Students will be responsible for the care and maintenance of their devices (please see technology information in your Back to School Packet).
      • Student chromebooks are to be used solely for distance learning activities.
      • If any device issues occur, please contact support@pausd.org immediately.
    • Pick Up textbooks and other materials by course
  • Please remind your child that they must leave campus immediately after picking up all materials. No socializing or loitering on campus.
  • Yearbooks from 2019-20 will be distributed at a later date (TBD). Production has been delayed. We will contact you once they are available for pick up. If you would still like to purchase a 2019-20 yearbook, it is not too late! Yearbooks are available for purchase online until August 15. To purchase, please visit: https://yearbookforever.com/. For scholarship inquiries, please contact your grade level counselor.
  • IF you are enrolled in a music course, we will be contacting you regarding instrument pick up during Aug. 12-14.

Student Materials Pick Up Schedule - To help us control the number of people on campus, students must come at their assigned times. If you are not able to come during your time block please contact rjang@pausd.org​ to arrange an alternate time.

Back to School Packets

Back to School information packets will be sent electronically this year, unless parents would like one mailed to the home address. (Please call Cristina Rodriguez at (650) 494-8120 or email her @ crodriguez@pausd.org​ if you would like a packet mailed home.)

6th Grade Parents!

At the beginning of each school year, Greene invites our incoming 6th graders to Jaguar Journey. Jaguar Journey provides important information for 6th graders regarding our school, their teachers, and ways to be organized and involved in middle school! This year will be a bit different, as Jaguar Journey will be held online. 6th grade students will be receiving information about Jaguar Journey during the first days of school!

Greene 101

On Thursday, August 13 at 5:30pm, you are welcome to join our Greene 101 webinar to get an overview of Greene Middle School this year. Previously, Greene 101 served as an introduction for parents new to Greene, but all of our parents are welcome to join this year as we start fresh together.
