Parent Square Instructions

Download the PAUSD custom app from the App Store (see QR code for iOS devices) and the Play Store (see QR code for Android devices). Note that the links will take you to the custom app designed to work better with our login system.

1. Once installed, open the app and click the person icon on the top right to login to your district account:

2. Then click "Sign in via Palo Alto Portal" to login to your district account.

For login issues, please follow these steps to reset your password.

On a desktop

ParentSquare allows you to change your language setting if users would like to get posts in a different language.

1. On the ParentSquare homepage select the down arrow next to your name. This will be in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
2. Click on My Account.

3. Select "Change this" under the Language Setting.

4. Select your preferred language from the drop down menu and click Save.

Parents can message staff at their associated school, teacher and parent coordinators at their associated classrooms.

Auto translation in the background allows each party to receive the message in the language they set. See "Change language setting" above on how to do this.

On a computer browser Messages option will be on your landing page, on the left sidebar.

Via a mobile app

On your mobile device, you can start a new message by clicking the 'plus' symbol. Depending on your device this may appear at the top or bottom of your screen.

As you begin to type the recipient's name on the "To" field you will see options available. If you are sending the message to more than one person, you can choose a privacy setting for the conversation. Private Message (one-to-one): a separate conversation will be created for each participant. Each participant will only see messages from you. Group Message: there will be one conversation for all participants. Each participant will see messages from everybody else.

Via a mobile app

On your mobile app, click the menu icon on the top left.

Via a browser

On the top right, click the dropdown next to your name and select "My Account".

On the account dashboard, click "Customize your settings"

Choose your preferred Notification Settings for General Announcements & Messages (Off, Instant or Digest) and School Alerts (On or Off). Once you've made selections, future messaging will send based on your preferences.

If you have multiple emails or phones listed on your account, set the order of your preferred contacts to receive notifications. Notifications will only be sent to one email and one phone on your account.

Note: This functionality is not yet available on the ParentSquare mobile app. Please log in to ParentSquare using a browser to show or hide your contact information.

1. Open your ParentSquare profile by clicking on your name in the directory, or you can click on your name in the top right corner and click "My Account."

2. To show your email or phone number, click on "hidden" and the status will change to "visible." To hide your email or phone number, click on "visible" and the status will change to "hidden."

3. If you need to change your contact info please submit a Residency/Address Change request.

ParentSquare forms accept one response per student per form. At this point it's not possible to edit a submitted entry. If you need to correct an entry, simply remove it and resubmit. These are possible as long as the due date has not passed.

First, delete your response:

1. Click the dropdown next to your name (top-right corner), then My Account.
2. Click Forms (left sidebar).
3. Click the trash can next to the appropriate form entry.

You are now ready to resubmit your response. 😊

From a Desktop / Web Browser

1. From Home, select Alerts and Notices on the left, then select the Document tab.
2. Locate the document you want to view and click View Document to open the PDF.

3. Sign in again to verify your identity and view the document.

From the Mobile App

1. Log in to your ParentSquare account with your email address or phone number.
2. On the bottom tool bar, select Alerts.
3. Locate the document you want to view and click View Document. Secure document notices are marked by a page with a lock icon.

4. Sign in again to verify your identity and view the document.

Families with children at multiple schools can change which school they view.

From a Desktop / Web Browser

From Home, click Switch School in the top left and choose the desired school site.

 

From the Mobile App

Tap the school name at the top to see other schools, and choose the desired school site.
