Resources for Incoming 6th Graders
Welcome to Middle School! In just a few short months, your student will enter the wonderful world of middle school. We are excited to meet our new 6th grade class, and eagerly look forward to welcoming them to middle school in the fall. The purpose of this notification is to give you an overview of the activities, which will take place in the next few months as your child begins their transition to middle school. Please read this 6th Grade Introductory letter for more information about the process.

In-Person Transition Meetings
This spring, Middle School Teams will be visiting elementary school sites in-person to present information to 5th grade students as part of the 5-6 transition process. Please see schedule link below for more information. If your child is not able to attend a session with their choice school or assigned middle school, an evening zoom session will be available for them to meet their middle school team.

Math Validation Process
Math Placement information will be sent to families via ParentSquare by late January. Please stay tuned to ParentSquare for registration information. The scheduled testing date is March 25 at JLS.
Incoming 6th Grade Choice Program Information
Spanish and Mandarin Immersion Bridge Programs
Information night for parents will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd from 6- 7 pm in the MPR.

To register for the language bridge programs, all families must apply for the Middle School Choice Program, including families who are currently in the immersion programs at Ohlone and Escondido. Choice Applications are due on 2/20/25 by 4:00pm. Lottery will be held on 2/27/25.
